When Joy joined our 3-day Live Sound Bootcamp for beginners in Ibadan (2024), she was passionate but still figuring things out. She had some experience volunteering in her church, but she needed structure, guidance, and hands-on practice.
That’s what she found at Audio Girl. Step by step, she began building:
After the bootcamp, she joined our ProducHer Series Recording Bootcamp, shadowing me as an engineering assistant learning how to set up, troubleshoot, and keep recordings running smoothly.
Then she came on the Audio Girl Tour with Showgear Limited, one of Africa’s biggest audio-visual companies. There, she met the COO (also an Audio Girl Advisory Board member) and shared her dream of an internship.
Weeks later, with an endorsement from Audio Girl, she was accepted for an internship at Showgear.
Today, Joy is part of their team as an audio tech, setting up at major shows like Johnny Drille’s concert, Make Music Lagos, and productions at Eko Hotel.
All this in just one year.
